Recreational soccer is a program that is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high level competition. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game. Fun! - It is critical that players involved in youth soccer enjoy the game in which they are playing.

Program Highlights:

  • Two practices per week (for most divisions) — plenty of time for learning, playing, and growing.

  • Weekly games, giving players the excitement of match‑play in a supportive setting.

  • Uniforms included: jersey, shorts and socks come with registration.

  • Player insurance, referee fees, equipment, field preparation (lines, goals, etc), and coach background checks are all covered by the club.

  • Community‑based and volunteer led: our coaches and organizers are part of the local family.

  • All experience levels welcome — this is about building confidence and skills just as much as scoring goals.

Season Details

  • Registration opens: Usually in June.

  • Practices begin: Early October.

  • Games start: Mid‑October.

  • Length: A 10‑week season, offering a focused, fun run of soccer without long‑term commitment.

  • Current fee: $125 (covers uniform, insurance, referees, field prep, equipment, etc).

Who should join?

  • Boys and girls who want to play soccer, have fun, and make friends.

  • Families looking for a positive, community‑based sports experience.

  • Children ready to learn basic to intermediate skills in a low‑pressure environment.

  • Parents who believe in sport for development, fun and teamwork.

Volunteer & Coaching Opportunities

Our Recreational Program thrives because of community volunteers.

  • No previous high‑level coaching experience required — we offer guidance and support for new coaches.

  • For parents and community members interested in helping, we provide the training and background‑check process.

  • Volunteering is a wonderful way to stay involved and make a positive impact on our young players.

Divisions

  • Little Lightning (U3–U4) — For our youngest players. Meets once a week for fun, age‑appropriate sessions, introduction to soccer fundamentals, and lots of energy.

  • U6 through U15 — Traditional recreational divisions for boys and girls from age 5 through 15 (U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U15 or as structured by season).

    • Everyone plays. Everyone learns. Everyone grows.

    • Divisions are grouped by age and size to keep things fair and fun.

What you’ll get with registration

  • Full uniform kit (jersey, shorts, socks)

  • Professional oversight of referee and field operations

  • Equipment such as nets, cones, and game balls

  • Background checks for all coaches and board members

  • Supportive setting where learning, fun, and growth are the priorities

How to register and what to know

  • Check back around June for registration to open.

  • Select the appropriate division based on the player’s age at season start.

  • Once registered: look for communications about practice schedules, uniform pick‑up, field locations and volunteer opportunities (for parents/coaches).

  • Be ready for practices to start in early October and games by mid‑October.

  • If you have any questions about divisions, volunteer coaching, or logistics, just reach out — we’re here to help.

Final Thought

At Nature Coast SC’s Recreational Program, it’s simple: we play, we learn, we have fun. By giving kids a friendly environment, consistent practice and games, and letting them build skills at their own pace, we create a foundation not just for soccer, but for teamwork, confidence and lifelong activity. We’d love for your player—or your family—to join us this fall and be part of the fun!
